Seriously can't believe it that today my little squirt is 2. She's a little stinker, sweet and a whole lotta awesome. She seriously cracks me up with the things she says and does.
Weighing in at 8lbs 3oz she was over 1 pound SMALLER than Maggie. Made her mama so happy :)
Now to feed Grace's addiction I will share her birth story. Which is by no means dull, but compared to Maggie's is not as... um... exciting?
To start things off my due date was 1.11.11 pretty cool, huh? However, I was so scared of birthing another gigantic mammoth baby (I think I stole this from Ana, I think) that I went ahead and induced a week early. I know, I know, pure craziness and I will never, ever, ever do that again. Like ever.
So at the crack of dawn Eric and I drove to the hospital only to be told that the birthing business at the hospital was going crazy and we would have to wait a few hours before we could be induced.
Why am I saying we? It's not like Eric was doing anything besides eating in front of me.
I can't remember when things got started, but I want to say somewhere around 7 or 8am. I got the epidural (also won't be doing that again as long as I can help it!) asap and slept. Seriously. That's what I did. Then a few hours later I was awoken by a nurse telling me that Clare's heartbeat was dropping and I needed to change positions. That helped for a little while, but then the nurse was back in with that worried/puzzled look on her face. It wasn't long after that that I was put on oxygen. This made me nervous so I asked if everything was alright. She was a nice nurse and wanted to calm me down I am sure and told me that she did this with almost all her patients.
Not too long after that my doctor showed up and it was time to push. With each contraction/push Clare's heartbeat continued to drop and it was determined that the cord was most likely wrapped around her poor little neck. Pushing took some time because I couldn't feel a darn thing to figure out what pushing meant and with her heart rate dropping they decided to use the vacuum. She came out sunny side up and with quite a few bruises on her face to prove it.

You made that birth sound so easy!
Are you going all natural next time? I did two naturally and I'm thinking epidural if I ever have a sixth :)
Happy Happy Happy Birthday to your sweet little girl, Brooke! She is a doll! She shares a birthday with my father. I just put a pumpkin cake in the oven for him. Enjoy your day with the birthday girl! : )
Happy birthday to Clare! :)
Oh, she is so sweet-- happy birthday to her!! And I am obsessed with early natural induction methods to ensure not having to squeeze out an extra large bebe. I may have to write a post about it in case mothers don't know the tricks!
Oh my goodness... those eyelashes! Happy Belated Birthday, dear girl!
Oh how funny, my Clare bear just turned 2 at the end of November...how old is Maggie?? I also have a 3 year old...
